Senior AI Engineer

Remote / Hybrid - Canada & Singapore

Company Mission

zyme turns repeatable processes into guided workflows. Our mission is to help teams design processes once and run them reliably at scale, shifting time from repetitive logistics to high‑value collaboration.

Role Mission

As a Senior AI Engineer on our Core AI team, you’ll build the intelligence that makes zyme feel autonomous: generating workflows from intent, recommending availability, automating bookings, and surfacing insights from analytics and feedback.

You’ll work closely with Product, Research, and Developer Experience to transform raw LLM capabilities into safe, fast, and lovable product features.

This is a rare opportunity to join early and shape the DNA of our product and company. Your work will directly influence how engineers, coaches, and enterprises design and run their workflows worldwide.

Responsibilities

Build AI-Powered Workflow Tools

  • Own the end‑to‑end development of the AI pipeline that turns text, docs, or prompts into multi‑step workflows.
  • Integrate state‑of‑the‑art LLMs to automate scheduling, bookings, and availability setup.
  • Continuously improve model performance on accuracy, latency, and cost.
  • Innovate on workflow transformation, summarization, and analytics insight.

Lead Engineering Efforts

  • Define best practices for LLM‑powered apps in TypeScript and Next.js.
  • Build scalable, containerized, distributed systems for inference and retrieval.
  • Optimize performance to deliver low‑latency, reliable AI responses.
  • Improve the developer experience of AI‑driven features across the platform.

Collaborate & Grow

  • Partner with Product, AI Research, and Developer Experience to define roadmaps.
  • Engage directly with the zyme community to understand real user pain points.
  • Mentor engineers on AI best practices and experimentation.
  • Contribute to company culture, bringing curiosity, pragmatism, and creativity.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years hands‑on experience building LLM‑powered applications.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and Next.js.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, containerized services, and cloud architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable writing design docs and leading discussions.

Nice to Have

  • Strong CS fundamentals.
  • Track record of shipping AI features in production at scale.
  • Experience with scheduling, booking, or workflow automation systems.
  • Customer‑facing experience delivering technical solutions.
  • Product mindset—care about usability, not just accuracy.

Why Join Us?

  • Meaningful early equity in a fast‑growing SaaS startup.
  • Remote‑first culture with hubs in Canada & Singapore.
  • Work on a cutting‑edge AI‑powered workflow platform used by global teams.
  • Collaborate with top engineers, researchers, and industry pioneers.
  • Shape the foundation of a product redefining how people schedule, onboard, and collaborate.
