Role Mission
As the Founding Fullstack Engineer, you’ll partner with the founding team to design and ship the core of zyme. You’ll work across frontend and backend to deliver a seamless developer and client experience—owning everything from workflow creation to booking automation, payments, and analytics.
This is a founding‑level role: you’ll set the engineering culture, own critical architectural choices, and help shape both the product and the company.
Responsibilities
Own the Product Roadmap
- Define the technical vision and long‑term architecture of the zyme platform.
- Research user needs and market trends to inform product evolution.
- Architect and implement core features like workflow steps, bookings, preferences, analytics, and integrations.
- Provide technical estimates and lead planning for key milestones.
- Explore and integrate AI‑driven automation to make workflows smarter.
Lead Engineering from Day One
- Establish engineering culture, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute directly to the codebase with high‑quality fullstack development.
- Mentor and grow the engineering team as we scale.
- Build a culture of curiosity, pragmatism, and velocity.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and community building.
Ensure Engineering Excellence
- Design, build, and deploy high‑performance, secure, and scalable systems.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
- Optimize frontend (React/Next.js) and backend services for performance and developer experience.
- Work closely with design and product to deliver polished, user‑first workflows.
- Balance speed of delivery with long‑term maintainability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years professional experience in software engineering.
- Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architectures.
- Experience with Next.js and server‑side rendering.
- Strong experience building scalable, distributed backend systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to drive projects end‑to‑end.
- Passion for developer experience, automation, and workflow tooling.
Nice to Have
- Strong CS fundamentals.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- Contributions to open‑source or prior startup experience.
- Background in AI/LLM integrations.
